Perhaps the most recognizable and most flattering pair of shoes ever made is the ‘Pigalle’ by Christian Louboutin. With its black patent leather and red lacquered soles, the shoe was an instant classic. It’s hard to imagine that this masterpiece came from a man with little formal training in shoemaking. Driven by pure passion, he sketched his designed and showed it to top couture houses which eventually landed him a job to work for Charles Jourdan and Roger Vivier. He also worked as a freelance designer for Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent and contributed to Vogue. With enough experience, he started his shoe line in 1991 and his brand has been synonymous, ever since, to revolutionary shoe designs.
